The energy of your past can affect your body significantly now. It may manifest over time in various physical ways. The energies can be from thoughts, emotions or actual situations that you’ve experienced. When a person experiences trauma, it often results in an emotional and physiological response that can linger long after the event has passed, and far after you have processed the event logically in your mind. This is about a subconscious energy that you arent even aware of. When change or trauma occurs and you go into a state of fight or flight for even short amounts of time, it dis-regulates your nervous system. Trauma doesn’t need to be tragic either. Many people hear the word trauma and immediately associate it with tragic events. The energy of trauma does not distinguish how bad or unsettling a situation is. It’s your own mind that decides that and then your body responds. Even someone saying something as simple as your hair looks bad and messy today and I don’t like it, might have lasting impressions on you as a young child. It may have made you feel sad, frustrated and angry and if you had no one to talk about it with at the time and you pushed those feelings of sadness and frustration down and topped it off with loneliness, you have the recipe for a pattern of emotional suppression developing. If you continued to bury your feelings and didn’t talk about them to anyone or didn’t have the support to release them in a healthy way, they actually build up and the energy from them may still be stuck in your body. Even if you’ve processed the situations in your logical conscious mind, the energy may still be in your subconscious mind and body. We tend to say to ourselves, other people have way bigger issues, this is no big deal and then supress the emotions. I remember thinking other people have worse things going on than to hear about my stuff, so I’m not going to talk about whats bothering me. Imagine if doing this continuously over time could cause energy to become trapped in your body, and how some events such as a death, divorce, infidelity, any change, abuse, and even negative self talk or behaviors could possibly cause emotions, and energy of emotions (because emotions are energy), to become stuck somewhere in your body. It can and it does. Even a simple case of the flu or a cold is your body's way of communicating with you. Any inflammation or disease is communication from your body that there is an energy that is out of balance or alignment, and typically it stems from trapped energy of suppressed emotions. This is how your body speaks to you. It is up to you to listen to it, and to start taking the steps to heal it on all energetic levels of mind, body and soul. Here are 6 ways this stuck energy of emotions may impact your body and overall health now.
Muscle Tension: Trauma and stuck energy from it can lead to chronic muscle tension as the body may unconsciously hold onto stress. This tension can result in discomfort or pain, especially in areas like the neck, shoulders, and back, often leading to headaches or other pain syndromes.
Nervous System Dis-regulation: Traumatic experiences can disrupt the autonomic nervous system, causing it to remain in a state of hyper-arousal or stress. This may result in symptoms such as increased heart rate, shallow breathing, gastrointestinal issues, and an exaggerated startle reflex.
Impact on Immunity and Chronic Disease: Chronic stress, related to unresolved trauma and unprocessed emotions can weaken the immune system, making the body more susceptible to illness. If past experiences (even ones that you think you have resolved in your logical mind), are not processed or released, they can cause energetic blockages in your body. High levels of stress hormones, such as cortisol, especially over prolonged periods of time can contribute to inflammation and may ultimately create chronic auto-immune disorders and various disease, along with mental stress. Your energetic body has what's called cellular memory, it is the energy of emotional baggage. For instance, unresolved grief may be connected to issues in the sinuses, lungs, IBS, hemorrhoids and many other conditions, while anger might relate to the liver. The key idea is that if you don't consciously release or heal from past pain or unresolved emotions, over time they can manifest in your life as chronic illness and DIS-EASE because your energy bodies are out of balance.
Postural Changes: Individuals who have experienced trauma may unconsciously alter their posture as a protective mechanism, which can lead to imbalances and discomfort. For example, slumped shoulders or a curved back may develop as a way to protect oneself from perceived threats if in a state of fight or flight over an extended period of time.
Fatigue: The emotional toll of processing trauma can lead to physical fatigue. The constant state of hyper alertness and the energy expended on coping and managing symptoms can result in persistent tiredness and decreased vitality.
Digestive Issues: The connection between mental and gut health is strong. Trauma can lead to digestive problems, as stress affects gut function. This can manifest as conditions like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or other gastrointestinal disturbances.
Recognizing the impact of emotions and energy of past trauma on physical health is crucial for healing disease. Support from mental health professionals, holistic therapies, energy healers and self-care practices can help in addressing these physical manifestations and promoting overall well-being.
